Context of the service

Through the VIGICLIMM project, AFD supports SODEXAM's capacity building in order to improve the quality of meteorological and climate services provided to users and to develop the sales of meteorological products and data.

AFD's Adapt'Action facility brings additional support on the agricultural component, as provision of accurate weather and climate data is key to enabling farmers to adapt to the new climatic conditions.

It is in this context that the present study was launched to "assess the state of SODEXAM's agro-meteorological services and make institutional, regulatory, economic and operational recommendations to develop these services and facilitate the adaptation of Ivorian agriculture to the effects of climate change".
