Certificate of satisfactory executionNote d'identification du projet FEM résilience agricole
The precarious situation in which Chadian rural populations live prevents them from facing the major challenges posed by climate change to agropastoral practices and, more generally, from meeting the needs of households without support.
Therefore, IFAD wishes to launch a project aimed at strengthening the ecosystem and climate resilience of small-scale producers in the Sahelian areas while also strengthening other environmental amenities: restoration of degraded land and landscapes, preservation of water resources, preservation of biodiversity.
Women and young people, who are often marginalized, will be particularly targeted by the project through specific activities and their active participation in dialogue and decision-making bodies.
The project must be deployed in three areas: (i) Develop or revise local development plans that are resilient to climate change in a participatory manner, (ii) Increase and diversify agropastoral production by promoting agroecology, (iii) Contribute to the self-employment of vulnerable groups in the processing and marketing activities of agropastoral value chains.
The experts drafted the Project Identification Form (PIF) for the project Strengthening the Ecosystem and Climate Resilience of Small Producers in the Sahelian Areas (2R2PEC):
- Collection and analysis of bibliographic and field data (one-week mission to N'Djamena) in order to frame the PIF, in accordance with the guidelines of the Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF/GEF);
- Development of the theory of change and logical framework, in consultation with local actors and IFAD managers;
- Development of the different sections of the PIF, in draft and final version after integration of the comments made by IFAD executives.
